Life on the Road

6 Tourist Destinations for the Traveling Field Rep.

by Nick Lay, Director of Construction Services

The life of a traveling Field Representative is very rewarding; chock full of benefits and pleasant surprises as you move from job to job.

One of the most exciting perks of life on the road is the fact that you get paid to travel. The mileage paid to the driver, plus the hourly travel time benefit, enables you to drive from point A to B without having to worry about the cost of fuel.

Along the way, you’ll have the unique opportunity to explore pockets of the country you otherwise wouldn’t experience—from National Parks to breathtaking architecture.

How to Spend a Day Off

In most instances, you’ll be assigned to a job that allows for a day off. This downtime can be used to explore the local culture, including food, music, art, and historical landmarks.

More often than not, you’ll find museums and art exhibitions that offer free tours. And if you’re lucky, you might even stumble into a restaurant that’s been featured on television programs, such as “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.”

Characters Along the Way

Perhaps most intriguing are the characters you meet on the road. As you explore new regions across the country, you’ll inevitably come across people with vivacious personalities and interesting lifestyles. This makes for good conversation.

Best of all, encounters you have along the way will create memories for you and your team members to laugh about for ages.
